Before receiving Christ I was loosing the battle with my life. I went to church but never made the connection between God and His son Jesus Christ. After graduating from High School and then College, I started drinking on the weekends and hanging out at nightclubs. The weekend drinking became weekday drinking, which went on and on for over twenty years. After several accidents and losing my drivers license, I found myself facing a 24 month mandatory jail sentence at Plymouth County Correctional Facility.
It was during this circumstance that I found myself with enough time to read the entire Bible; not once, but twice. I made Jesus Christ my Lord and Savoir and my life was transformed. One of the scriptures that sums up my life best is Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
The battle was won when Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for me.
God’s words are now embedded in my life with no battles that I can’t win. The battle was won when Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for me. I’ve been alcohol free since 2003. I no longer smoke cigarettes and despite the economy, I have a great job. I have a Godly wife with a heart after God every day. I have a church family where I share with other believers on Sunday and always start my day with Bible Study and scripture memory.
John 12:36 says: “While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
The light is bright and my faith in God will never waiver…
